The Problem
With SAVE terminated and 7M+ borrowers forced to choose a new plan, the repayment landscape is more complex than ever. RAP launches July 2026. IBR, PAYE, and legacy REPAYE each have different payment percentages, interest subsidies, forgiveness timelines, and PSLF eligibility rules. A borrower picking the wrong plan can overpay by $20,000 to $100,000+ over the life of their loans. Existing calculators show monthly payments but ignore NPV, tax bombs, income uncertainty, and spousal optimization.

Our Monte Carlo engine simulates 1,000+ income trajectories using BLS occupational wage distributions to produce confidence intervals on your total repayment cost. We model PSLF breakeven, IDR tax bombs, spousal filing optimization, and consolidation impact -- then rank every plan by the metric that matters: total lifetime cost in today's dollars.
